Next to Thermaikos gulf, in the fertile lands of Kalochori, the Tsipitsoudis family has been cultivating rice for 25 years. All arable soils have their special characteristics. Their soil has increased salinity, due to the fact that Kalochori is 1 meter below sea level.
The single variety GRADONA rice, of the carnaroli variety, is excellent for risotto. Its high starch content makes it curdle quickly. It is preferred by experienced chefs for the preparation of risotto, but it should not be missing from everyone's plate.
It is ideal to flavor other dishes such as dolmades, stuffed meats, various soups such as meat soup or chicken soup you would like to cook. In addition, it is a very good choice for rice pudding.
